Steps to Repair Computer Start-up Slow

Is Your Windows Boot Very Slow? Do you know you can speed up your computer boot time up to 2x or more with just few simple tweaks?

If you encounter Windows startup slow, you must check few things here before we go into tweaking the system:

  1. Disabled Network adapter (Control Panel -> Network Connection)- If the computer recover to the normal state, most probably you have a bad network driver, incorrect network settings or just simply broken network adapter.
  2. Check for recent software installation - Try to uninstall it and roll back to the restore point before installation.
  3. Try To lower the Video Hardware acceleration (Control Panel -> Display -> Troubleshoot) - If this help, meaning you need to re-install your video driver or something is wrong with your video card.

If none of the above mention worked, you can use the old boot-vis tool from Microsoft (Should use this tool only if you are still using Windows XP SP1), or Tune-XP (Very Effective Tool and is FREE !) for Windows XP SP2, this should cure windows start slow problem in most cases, even “Normal” Windows should use it to speed up overall boot time. Say goodbye to slow booting in XP.

Furthermore remember to get Anti Virus and Anti spyware for your computer, these must have tools for all computer users, no matter you are enthusiast or normal user, if you are connected to the Internet (Which almost every user did today!) you are just 1 step behind being infected by the Virus! No exception! (For more information, please see FREE Anti Virus and Anti Spyware)

Registry Easy is highly recommended to repair start up problems cause by software. With Registry Easy you are not only scan and remove unwanted registry entries, but also tune-up your PC performance with the special tools provided.

My Personal experience with Registry Easy is very good, not only detects the most problems, but also provides some good utilities such as force uninstall to Windows Uninstall entries (If your installer fail to uninstall itself).

If the above mention methods all fail to cure your Windows, be prepared to re-install Windows, this time remember to install Registry Easy or any other Registry Cleaner before doing Hard disk imaging backup (You can try Acronis True Image). This will ensure every program you uninstall after that will have a clean uninstallation, which helps to avoid Windows start down. Moreover try to scan and clean registry every 2 weeks to main a healthy Windows.
