More useful utilities such as Startup Manager, Uninstall Manager and Duplicate File Cleaner. Just in case you don’t know what startup manager is, let me give you some introduction.

Startup Manager is a tool that allows you to select which programs (Normally is some monitoring software / device driver configuration) to startup automatically during the windows boot up process. By minimizing the programs during boot time will dramatically increase your boot up efficiency. This utility is similar to windows “msconfig”.

Another very useful tool is the BHO Manager. BHO stands for “Browser Helper Object”, a DLL design to work as an extension / plugin to Internet Explorer. But there are too many bad BHO around, which in many times it will install itself when we visited some of the website. We can’t remove it from Internet Explorer, we can easily remove useless BHO by using BHO manager in Registry Easy.

Registry Easy is highly recommended for all Microsoft Windows User, you can easily and effectively (detect many errors that no other registry cleaner can!) removes any unwanted registry entries, tune up your computer and maintain a healthy system with just a single click, and if any case your computer need to restore to its’ state before cleaning, backup manager comes with auto backup every time before fixing the registry entries.

Registry Mechanic does not provide much features, and the scanning speed is normal, but it did provide registry defrag and compacting tool, which does not exists in 2 of my best registry cleaners (Registry Easy & Regcure).

Registry Mechanic is one of the most popular registry cleaner in these 2 years, although our test score not very impressive, but it still perform very well and highly recommended for PC Tools existing customer! In this review, I will try to outline some of its’ features and the advantages compare to other registry cleaners.

Registry Mechanic can detects the errors bellows:

1. Software Locations - Missing software but entries exists
2. Registry Integrity - Integrity check
3. Windows Fonts - Missing fonts
4. Help And Resources - Missing help and resources
5. Shared DLLs - Missing DLL or inconsistency
6. Startup Programs - Missing or bad start up
7. Add/Remove Programs - Improper remove of software
8. Virtual Devices - Corrupted Software simulate port or devices
9. File Extensions - Bad file extensions
10. Temp Files/Shortcuts - Temporary entries
11. Custom Controls - Missing plug in controls
12. Deep Scan - Expand scan to more errors (Take longer time)

Most features are shared with other registry cleaners, the error detection rate is not bad compare to our best result. Even with the errors detected and cleaned by our Best Registry Cleaner, it still manage to detect and clean many errors…(Please note that NO SINGLE REGISTRY CLEANER CAN DETECT AND CLEAN ALL ERRORS!)

Although the detection rate is not very impressive, but it did repair and cure most of the Windows and software errors:

1. Improper Un-installation and un-installation left behind entries
2. Incorrect removal of software
3. Missing or corrupted hardware drivers
4. orphaned startup program
5. Some of the DLL hell
6. Blue Screens of Death (BSOD)

Registry Mechanic’s Optimize Your System doesn’t provide as much tune-up and tweak as Registry Easy, but its’ simplicity and user friendliness is more preferable for most user; For advance user I would still recommend Registry Easy.

Compact Registry is something like Defrag and rearranging registry entries, which only few registry cleaners in the market offered. This tool is especially important when you have a lots of software installed in your computer, when your registry growth to a very high volume, this feature will allows you to minimize the loading time and speed up your normal computer operation.

In Summary, our test shows this is one of the fast and effective repair tools for most Windows and software errors, I would recommend Registry Mechanic for computer newbie, but for advance user, Registry Easy is the better choice!

Despite all the bad rumors on the forum and complaint website, it still speak for itself! Regcure has the fastest detection speed with an impressive error detection rate in our test.(It detects 399 errors in 7 seconds!)

Regcure does not have many extra features, it is a pure and fast registry cleaner with auto scan scheduler. I use it to schedule scan my other PCs without my interaction.

Regcure will create a backup copy every time before cleaning, if you find that your system is abnormal after cleaning, just go to backup and restore to the previous state. I am lucky to say this: 3 months down the road and I have not yet encounter any serious problem that required restore…

One thing you should be aware is: there are rumor and false complaints about Regcure being bad and not refunding, but my personal experience with them are extremely well. I never had a problem with my computer when using Regcure, and I dont know why there are many rumors on the Forum and complaint web site about this product, the only thing I can think of, is this product selling too well, and their competitor cant stand it!

For advance user, there is an ignore key list, where user can easily add ignore items to avoid over kill (I yet encounter any problem!), this option may help some application that act abnormally after errors clearing. (Just restore the cleaning history and add the problem key to the ignore list)

Regcure allows you to setup an auto scan schedule, it will do the maintenance automatically, or you may also do it manually when you want to. Having said that, there is one strange thing during registry cleaning with Regcure, which it requires you to scan 3 times to remove some of the entries.

Regcure detects Invalid ActiveX / COM entries very well, in a large complex system, Regcure did improve some application performance significantly, and this is especially obvious on a PC with lots of software.

Regcure is my second recommended Registry Cleaner; I love its detection speed and automatic schedule function. Some time I left my computer over night and it detects and cleans errors for me automatically.
